About SFL Samvad

South Asia Students For Liberty is to announce a Samvad on the theme “Sustainable Technology” as part of the Liberty. Innovation. Technology (LIT) 2021 series.

The word Samvad originates from the Sanskrit word संवाद (saṃvāda) meaning dialogue, it helps us to create an environment where issues can be discussed in a tolerant, non-conflicting, and critical manner using things we consume every day- movies, books, TV shows, documentaries, articles, and much more.

Date: 19th December 2020

Time: 4 pm to 6 pm

Theme

When the goals for the progress of humankind are reached without irreparable damage to precious natural resources and the environment, it is often referred to as sustainable development. The United Nations too, in its mandate, has recognized 17 different goals to make development of mankind sustainable for the eons to come.

The last century was a hot-bed of environmental exploitation, while the last decade has brought in a surge in technology that is expanding rapidly. How can this technology be harnessed to make the world a better and safer place?

The informal dialogue is on:

  • Sustainable Development Goals
  • Conscious Capitalism
  • Sustainable Technological Growth
  • Environment-oriented Technology
