IPPN, a global network of public policy professionals, is inviting submissions by way of a Call for Chapters for its book on ‘Democracy is as Democracy Does: The Journey of India’.
About the Book
India is and remains the world’s largest democracy, due to the sheer volume of voters who place their faith in the democratic system time and again. Analysing the institutional vibrancy and functional dynamism of democratic experiences in India thus becomes an important task if we are to envision the next several decades of its development in India.
Amidst crumbling democracies in the West, tense geopolitical relationships and rising protectionism, it becomes imperative to deep dive into this topic.
This book aims to explore India’s trials and tribulations as being the world’s largest democracy. How has the Indian democracy managed to last this long? How is it likely to proceed in the future? What ails democracy in India and what can be done about it?
